The University Poker League Society Championship

If you think you are then you can prove it on UniversityPokerLeague the only poker site on the net that is 100% focused on looking after you - the student and we're proud to announce our University Poker League Society Championship, where each Poker Society will play their very own 15 week Online League and the best player in each Poker Society, on completion of the 15 weekly tournaments, will be entered into a $1,000 Guaranteed Grand Final.

Each Poker Society will choose what day and time of the week to hold their tournament, this must be the same each week and cannot be changed once set up, you can also chose from a $5 to a $50 buy-in (all with a 10% fee) you can also chose from No Limit Hold'em Freezeout, Rebuy or 1 rebuy and add-on, and finally you can either stick to the same tournament for all 15 weeks or alternate with different buy-ins and tournament styles.

All tournament payouts and blind structures will be the same as the standard tournaments on UniversityPokerLeague.

All players will receive points for every tournament they enter, points will be awarded on a point per position basis for each tournament (with 40 runners 1st will get 40 points, 2nd 39 points and so on). Only the top 10 points finishes for each player will go into the leaderboard, so if you miss the start or a few games for a holiday you still have every chance of winning. The player to make the most points from their top 10 finishes in each Poker Society will be invited to play in the $1,000 Guaranteed Grand Final in March.

A leaderboard for each society will be posted the following day on your Society Page, in the News and on the Forum on the UniversityPokerLeague.com website.

The $1,000 Guaranteed will increase depending on the number of Societies and the number of players that take part, we all know students like a discount so therefore we're going to take 50% of the entry fee (so $.050 for a $10+$1 tourney) and this will make up the prizepool for the Grand Final, therefore if we get just 10 societies with 40 players each week for 15 weeks you will have already increased your Grand Final Prize Pool from a Guaranteed $1,000 to $3,000!!!

The Grand Final will be paid out as per normal payout structures on UniversityPokerLeague.com, so 10 players will get paid top 3, 20 players top 4 etc.

The Grand Final will be a Deepstack $1,000 Guaranteed Freeroll No Limit Hold'em Freezeout, and as an added bonus all finalists will be offered an opportunity to become an Online Sponsored player with a $100 a day starting bankroll if successful in an Academy Mentor Interview. The league will start the week commencing November 3rd 2008 and will run for 7 weeks where we will then break for Christmas, we will then start again on the week commencing January 5th 2009 and run a further 8 weeks until Friday 27th February where the final tournament must be played if not already played during the week.
Once all leaderboards are updated the Final results will be posted and the winners from each society will be announced on Monday 2nd March.

The Grand Final will take place on Monday 9th March at 20:00 GMT.

Terms and Conditions
1. All societies must be registered by Friday October 24th
2. The weekly games cannot be changed or altered once they have been requested
3. UPL's decision on the winner from each society will be final.
4. In the event of a points tie we will take the players highest finishing positions into account, in the event that this is still a tie the players will play a heads up game to decide the society winner.
5. The winners from each society will be notified by email.
6. It is the players responsibility to register for the online final. Any players not registered in time for the final will forfeit their seat.
6 UPL reserve the right to change/amend or cancel this promotion at any time without prior notification.
7 $100 a day sponsorship offer to all finalists is subject to completing a successful play/interview session with a mentor from badbeat.com. BadBeat reserve the right to refuse sponsorship.
8 IPod Touch will be awarded subject to terms and conditions set by the iPoker network on a jackpot claim being successful. This promotion will run only during the online league dates November 3rd 2008 to February 27th 2009.
9. Winners from each society must be registered with the appropriate society in order to win a seat at the Grand final and also as members of www.universitypokerleague.com
10. Players must have played a mimimum of 10 online games to qualify for the Grand Final, in the event that the winner hasn't the next highest scoring player that has played at least 10 games will qualify.
